Eye Surgery in Houston
Our eyes are sensitive: they convey our emotions to others and allow us to view the physical beauty of the world around us. When we experience damage to our eyes, it can affect our confidence and wellbeing. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bob Basu, and our facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Taylor DeBusk, specialize in enhancing the function and appearance of the eyes in Houston.
Eye surgery procedures we offer
We offer a range of eye surgeries to improve the function and appearance of the eyes, eyelids, and orbital area, including:
Eyelid lift surgery (blepharoplasty)
Eyelid lift surgery, also called blepharoplasty, tightens sagging skin around the eyes, removes fat bags from the under-eyes, and fills in under-eye valleys caused by volume loss. Eyelid surgery can also correct droopy eyelids (eyelid ptosis) and provide an alert and refreshed appearance to the eyes.

Eye reconstructive surgery (oculoplasty)
Eye reconstructive surgery, also called oculoplasty, is surgery to repair damage to the ocular region, including the eyelids and tear ducts. Ocular damage can be caused by skin cancer, trauma, or genetics, and eye reconstructive surgery can improve the function and appearance of the eyes.
Eyelid repair surgery
Eyelid repair surgery corrects drooping (ptosis) of the eyelids and treats eyelids that have been misaligned and/or misshapen due to trauma, skin cancer, scarring, radiation, or surgical complications. Types of eyelid repair surgery performed at Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery include:
- Entropion eyelid surgery
- Ectropion eyelid surgery
- Eyelid ptosis surgery
- Upper and lower eyelid retraction surgery
Double fold eyelid surgery
Double fold eyelid surgery helps open the eyelids to increase vision while maintaining the eye’s natural shape. It is very popular among people of Asian descent but can benefit anyone who wants to create a more open appearance to their eyes.

If you are interested in an eye surgery procedure you don’t see listed above, contact us to learn how we can meet your ocular needs. Please note that to be considered as a candidate for any of the above surgical procedures, you must have a BMI of 40 or less.
Non-surgical eye procedures
In addition to reconstructive and aesthetic eye surgeries, both of our board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in nonsurgical eye rejuvenation procedures, including BOTOX®, JUVÉDERM®, and Restylane® injections.
Botox
Botox is a neurotoxin that inhibits muscle movement, making it perfect for reducing fine lines and “dynamic” wrinkles that develop around the eyes due to muscle contractions like squinting, smiling, and frowning. Botox is effective at diminishing crow’s feet, the “11” lines between the eyebrows, and to improve eyelid symmetry. Botox can also be injected in the lower brow to lift and open the eyes, creating a more awake and refreshed appearance.
Dermal fillers
At Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, we offer Juvederm and Restylane to restore volume in the face, particularly around the eyes. Under-eye bags can be caused for a variety of reasons, such as a high-salt diet, allergies, and inadequate sleep, and can make us feel insecure about our appearance. Juvederm and Restylane are dermal fillers that utilize hyaluronic acid to fill in the sunken areas below the eyes, reduce swelling, and lighten the tear troughs, helping you look more rejuvenated and well-rested.
