EMBRACERF RECOVERY

Since EmbraceRF is a minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is much shorter and less intense than it is for people who choose a surgical procedure like a facelift. Your skin may be slightly red for 2-3 days.

Depending on the amount of fat reduction, you may also experience some swelling for 2-5 days. We typically recommend our Houston EmbraceRF patients wear compression garments for 3-5 days, then at night for comfort.

HOW DOES EMBRACERF WORK?

EmbraceRF works by combining two successful cosmetic technologies: FaceTite and Morpheus8. This allows Dr. Basu to treat both fat and loose skin. During the treatment, a thin cannula will be inserted under the skin, using an incision smaller than 2-3 millimeters. The cannula produces radiofrequency (RF) energy that both tightens skin and liquefies fat.

The benefit of this is the stimulation of collagenesis, or collagen regrowth. Collagen is one of the most important substances in your body for maintaining the look of youthful skin. Although patients see an instant improvement right away, EmbraceRF results continue to improve for several weeks following the procedure. Patients typically see the most significant results after about six weeks, and maximal skin tightening takes 3 to 6 months – so results will continue to improve over time.

At the same time that the radiofrequency energy is working below your skin, we perform Morpheus8 on the outside of your skin. Like FaceTite, Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency energy, which is delivered through microneedling. This external treatment also stimulates collagen allowing for a 2-in-1 procedure that uses radiofrequency energy both internally and externally to tighten skin and improve contours. Morpheus8 facilitates Subdermal Adipose Remodeling (SdARM) – translation: it helps to resurface the skin, tighten the skin, and remove unwanted fat.

For best results, we recommend 2 additional treatments with Morpheus8, after your initial EmbraceRF treatment which carry no downtime. With the 2 additional Morpheus8, you can go back to the gym or any activity right away.

IS EMBRACERF RIGHT FOR ME?

EmbraceRF is an ideal treatment for some people, so it’s important to understand what EmbraceRF can address, and what it cannot. In general, EmbraceRF can be a good option for candidates who:

• Have unwanted wrinkles and pockets of fat in the face and neck
• Have mild to moderate loose skin

If you have moderate to severe skin laxity, a surgical procedure like a facelift or neck lift may be a better option for you. Additionally, if your primary concern is more extensive amounts of fat that you’d like removed, liposuction may be the better choice. WHAT IS AN EMBRACERF TREATMENT LIKE?

Before beginning your EmbraceRF procedure, Dr. Basu’s nurse may provide sedation to help you relax. Next, Dr. Basu will use a small needle to inject local anesthetic into the treatment area or areas before beginning the procedure. Once the area is numb, Dr. Basu will insert a small wand under your skin. This is the part of the FaceTite procedure that works from underneath your skin. Additionally, your skin will be treated from the outside with a separate device called Morpheus8. Most patients say they feel some discomfort but no pain during the procedure. Patients are generally done after 45 minutes and do not require multiple procedures to see results.

DOES EMBRACERF HURT?

During your EmbraceRF treatment, the area will be well-numbed with local anesthesia to ensure that you are not in pain. Dr. Basu also offers the option of having IV sedation during the treatment, which can help you feel more relaxed. As with most minimally invasive procedures, you can expect some level of discomfort through the initial phase of your recovery, but should not be in pain.
