This enchanting and eye-catching photo spot speaks for itself! BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is one of the most memorable and Instagrammable places in Houston. Featuring hand-carved marble columns, impressive stonework, and a soothing reflection pool, this beautiful and authentic Hindu temple will transport you to the far East in seconds. Guests must wear modest clothing and leave their shoes at the door, but all of this is well worth the effort. Hint: Check out the temple at night to see the exterior lit up like artwork against the starry sky.

Chùa Bà Thiên Hậu, or the Teen How Taoist Temple, is another unique and gorgeous temple, located just a few minutes from the business district. It’s unexpected to see such a magnificent sight in the quiet residential area of “EaDo” (aka East Downtown). With a beautiful grand entrance, intricately decorated buildings, and beautiful grounds (complete with a koi pond!), this is not just a spot for interesting photos, but also a place to enjoy a unique cultural experience. The temple honors several important figures and deities in Chinese Taoism and holds an ambiance of peace and calm, offering a much-needed escape from the bustle of the city.

Leopard Lounge is a funky vintage clothing and thrift shop located in the heart of the Montrose neighborhood. The storefront features one of the coolest backdrops in the city—sure to bring out your inner cheetah. It is particularly unique because art not only covers the exterior wall, but also the sidewalk below, so photos can appear as if you’re floating! The best part? It’s also one of the best places to shop for fun accessories to complement your look.

The Beer Can House is a must-see on your ultimate Houston Bucket List. Literally covered in flattened beer cans, the house is also uniquely landscaped with marbles and other materials embedded in concrete. With over 50 thousand beer cans showering the bungalow and its yard, this one-of-a-kind art house and shrine attracts pilgrims from throughout Texas and beyond. We recommend bright clothing and an excellent light kit to capture the unique metallic backdrop.
